Obverse description : Tête d'Héraklès à droite, coiffé de la léonté.

Reverse description : Zeus aétophore assis à gauche sur un siège avec dossier, nu jusqu'à la ceinture, les jambes croisées, tenant un aigle de la main droite étendue et un sceptre long de la main gauche ; dans le champ à gauche, un vase à une anse surmonté d’un cep de vigne et deux monogrammes.

Poids léger. Même coin de droit que l’exemplaire du British Museum (n° 1679a, pl 56). Exemplaire exceptionnel pour ce type de monnayage.

Coinage in the name and type of Alexander III the Great

Temnos was situated on a hill placed above the right bank of the Hermos. The city was close to Neonteichos. The workshop was identified thanks to the amphora surmounted by the vine stock.
