Suite à la création du Deutsche Mark le 20 juin 1948, entre 1948 et 1950, des monnaies de 1, 5, 10 et 50 Pfennig sont émises par la Bank deutscher Länder, la banque centrale des secteurs d'occupation occidentaux, puis de la République fédérale d'Allemagne de 1948 à 1957.
