Exemplaire sur un petit flan bien centré des deux côtés. Belle tête d’Apollon. Joli revers avec une faiblesse de frappe sur la légende. Argent légèrement corné et une patine grise superficielle et des reflets mordorés

BITHYNIA - KIOS

(4th century BC)

Kios was a rich commercial city at the entrance to the Propontis, founded according to legend by the Argonauts. Coinage would not begin before the second half of the 4th century BC. It was part of the Kingdom of Thrace under Lysimachus. The city was destroyed by Philip V of Macedon in 202 BC..
