Exemplaire sur un petit flan ovale et irrégulier, parfaitement centré des deux côtés avec les grènetis visibles. Portrait de toute beauté. Revers fantastique finement détaillé. Magnifique patine de médaillier avec des reflets mordorés et bleutés. Conserve l’intégralité de son brillant de frappe et de son coupant d’origine

Historical background
CARIA - BARGYLIA
(2nd - 1st century BC.)
Bargylia was located at the bottom of the Gulf of Iasos 30 kilometers from Mylassa, located according to Strabo between Myndos and Caryander. The city was famous because it is there that the companion of Bellerophon would have been killed with a hoof by Pegasus. The city was famous for its sanctuary of Artemis Kindyas, bust of the goddess which adorns the right of Hellenistic coins.
