Coments on the condition:
Exemplaire sur un flan ovale et bien centré. Portrait bien venu à la frappe. Frappe un peu molle au revers. Patine grise avec des reflets métalliques et une coloration brunâtre. Infimes petites traces d’oxydation dans le champ du revers

Poids léger. Avec toute son argenture. Rubans de type 3. Cuirasse et épaulière cloutées. Ptéryges fines et tombantes.

CARUS

(09/282-07/283)

Carus is proclaimed in Rhaetia at the end of August 282. Probus is assassinated in Sirmium. Carus entrusts the rank of Caesar to his eldest son Carin at the end of October, then to his other son, Numérien, in December. Carus named his august sons in March 283. In the spring of 283, he began a brilliant campaign against the Sassanids, took Ctesiphon, their capital, but was struck down by lightning in July 283. Numerian, who accompanied him, was charged with bringing back the troops.
