Exemplaire sur un flan large et ovale, bien centré des deux côtés. Belle tête de Commode. Frappe un peu molle au revers. Très jolie patine verte

Obverse translation : “Marcus Commodus Antoninus Augustus Pius”, (Marc Commode Antonin auguste pieux).

Reverse legend : TR P VIII[I] - IMP VI - COS IIII P P/ S|C.
Reverse description : Felicita (la Félicité) drapée debout à gauche, tenant un caducée de la main droite et un gouvernail de la main gauche.
Reverse translation : “Tribunicia Potestate nonum Imperator sextum Consul quartum Pater Patriæ”, (Revêtu de la neuvième puissance tribunitienne et de la sixième acclamation impériale consul pour la quatrième fois).

Commodus succeeded his father Marc Aurèle, who died in Vienna on March 17, 180. He hastened to conclude a truce with the Germanic tribes and then abandoned public life. The Empire was successively governed by the prefects of the Praetorium, Perennis from 182 to 185, Cléandre from 185 to 190, who were both assassinated. Commodus suffocated on the night of December 31, 192.
