Commentary


Ce type fut frappé pour l'atelier de San José (Costa Rica) de 1825 à 1849. Il fut aussi fabriqué pour l'atelier de Guatemala city de 1824 à 1826 et en 1843.

COSTA RICA - REPUBLIC OF CENTRAL AMERICA

(1821-1849)

Costa Rica obtained its independence on September 15, 1821 and was first part of the General Captaincy of Guatemala (1821-1823), then of the Mexican Empire of Iturbide (1821-1823), finally of the Republic of Central America, including Guatemala, Honduras, El Salvador, Nicaragua and Costa Rica. The Union broke up in 1839. Costa Rica left the confederation in 1850.
