Exemplaire sur un flan large et ovale, échancré à 4 heures au revers. Très beau buste consulaire de Galère césar. Joli revers. Patine marron foncé

Obverse description : Buste lauré consulaire de Galère césar à gauche, vu de trois quarts en avant, tenant le scipio de la main droite (H*2).

Obverse translation : “Maximianus Nobilissimus Cæsar”, (Maximien très noble césar).

Reverse legend : GEN[IO POP]-VLI ROMANI/ (AUTEL)|B// PLG.

Reverse description : Genius (Génie) debout à gauche, coiffé du modius, le manteau sur l'épaule gauche, tenant une patère de la main droite et une corne d'abondance de la main gauche.

Reverse translation : “Genio Populi Romani”, (Au Génie du Peuple romain).

Commentary

Rubans de type 2 aux extrémités bouletées. Malgré la rareté de ce type, nous n’avons pas relevé d’identité de coin pertinente. Cet exemplaire manque à la collection de la BnF. Prendra le numéro 231d dans le Supplément III du Bastien.
