Exemplaire sur un petit flan ovale, bien centré des deux côtés. Beau portrait de Géta enfantin. Beau revers avec une faiblesse de frappe sur la légende. Très jolie patine verte bicolore, foncée au droit, claire au revers

Obverse description : Buste drapé et cuirassé, tête nue de Géta césar à droite, vu de trois quarts en arrière (A°2).

Reverse description : Aigle debout de face, les ailes déployées, la tête tournée à gauche.

Ptéryges à peine visibles sous le paludamentum. Même coin de droit que les exemplaires du Cabinet des médailles de la BnF (SNG France 3/ 1157, 9l. 62).

Caesar

Born on May 26, 189, Geta became Caesar in 198 and received the title of pontifex the following year. He accompanies his father and his brother to Brittany from 208 and is raised to Augustat the following year. When Septimius Severus died in York on February 4, 211, the two brothers brought their father's ashes back to Rome and became co-emperors. But they hate each other. Finally, after a year of joint rule, Caracalla kills his brother in their mother's arms. Geta is dedicated to "damnatio memoriæ" (damnation of memory). His supporters are systematically massacred.
