Obverse description : Buste rayonnant de profil gauche d’un empereur moghol, probablement Jahangir, coiffé d’un turban duquel dépasse une palme tombant vers l’arrière, et vêtu d’une tenue d’apparat. Inscription circulaire en arabe mentionnant la date de 977 et les chiffres 22 et 12.

Alliage probablement à base d’étain et de cuivre. Fabrication artisanale.
Jahangir, fils d’Akbar, est un empereur moghol ayant régné entre 1605 et 1627. Dans l’inscription circulaire de l’avers, la date mentionnée de 977 dans le calendrier de l’Hégire pourrait correspondre à 1569 dans le calendrier Grégorien, son année de naissance. Le chiffre 22 pourrait correspondre à la durée de son règne.
