Exemplaire sur un petit flan ovale, bien centré. Beau portrait d’Apollon de haut relief, bien venu à la frappe. Joli revers de style fin. Belle patine vert olive clair

IONIA - MILETUS
(4th century BC)
Miletus, founded in the 12th century BC, had been the seat of the Ionian Confederation. During the War of Liberation, it was crushed in 494 BC. Its cult of Apollo was renowned throughout Asia Minor. Its settlers founded, among others, the colonies of Abydos, Cyzicus, Sinope and Panticapaeum.
