Bel exemplaire, idéalement centré. Très beau buste, finement détaillé. Joli revers, légèrement taché. Patine de collection

Obverse description : Buste diadémé, drapé et cuirassé de Jovien à droite, vu de trois quarts en avant (A’a) ; diadème perlé.

Obverse translation : “Dominus Noster Iovianus Pius Felix Perpetuus Augustus”, (Notre seigneur Jovien pieux heureux perpétuel auguste).

Reverse

Reverse legend : SECVRITA-S REI - PVBLICAE/ VOT/ V MVLT/ X// ANTE.

Reverse description : Rome et Constantinople assises de face sur une banquette, tenant un bouclier sur lequel est inscrit : VOT/V/MVLT/X.

Reverse translation : “Securitas Rei Publicæ/ votis quinquennalibus votis decennalibus”, (la Sécurité de la chose publique/ vœux pour le cinquième anniversaire de règne et plus pour le dixième anniversaire à venir).

Commentary

Sous coque NGC AU (Strike 5/5, Surface 4/5). Ruban de type 3 aux extrémités bouletées. Les solidi de Jovien étaient très rares et cotaient 100 francs or dans la deuxième édition du Cohen en 1892.
