Ce gros est frappé sur un flan large et régulier. Exemplaire recouvert d’une légère patine grise. De petites faiblesses de frappe à gauche de l’écu et se retrouvant sur la tête de l’aigle gauche du revers

LORRAINE - DUCHY OF LORRAINE - JOHN I

(1346-1390)

Jean I first found himself placed under the regency of Marie de Blois. He was taken prisoner at the Battle of Poitiers and was only released after the Treaty of Brétigny (1360). Jean supported Charles de Blois and was taken prisoner at the Battle of Auray. He remained faithful to the French alliance and died in 1390.
