Ces thalers ont été frappés dans l’atelier de Saint-Amarin, ouvert en 1544 et qui frappa monnaies jusque vers 1581.

Jean-Rodlophe succeeded his uncle Georges de Masevaux in 1542. His election was only confirmed in March 1544 by Ferdinand I, brother of the Emperor Charles V. He died on June 16, 1570.
