Exemplaire sur un flan très large, parfaitement centré des deux côtés avec les grènetis complets. Beau portrait juvénile de Philippe II. Revers bien venu à la frappe. Joli revers de style fin. Belle patine grise superficielle avec des reflets dorés. Conserve la plus grande partie de son brillant de frappe et de son coupant d’origine

Poids très lourd. Rubans de type 3. Ce type semble en fait plus rare que ne le laissent supposer les ouvrages généraux.

Augustus

Philip II, son of Philip the Arab and Otacilia Severa, was named Augustus in 247. He participated in the commemoration of the millennium of Rome which began on April 21, 247. Philip, his father, was killed at the battle of Verona . Philip II was assassinated shortly thereafter. We do not know what happened to Otacilia Sévéra. Philip II was made Caesar shortly after the accession of his father who awarded him the title of prince of youth.
