Exemplaire sur un petit flan épais et ovale, bien centré des deux côtés. Très beau portrait de Zeus. Joli revers de style fin. Belle patine marron foncé

Beau portrait de Zeus. Notre exemplaire est très proche de celui de la collection Stancomb (WSC. 723).

PONTUS - PHARNACIA
(2nd - 1st century BC)
The city was founded by Pharnaces I (185-149 AC.), king of Pontus, grandfather of Mithridates VI Eupator, around 180 BC on the site of ancient Cerasus. It was a fortified coastal town. It loses its importance at the time of the Roman conquest.
