Reverse description : Esculape debout de face, tourné à gauche, barbu, nu jusqu'à la ceinture, tenant son manteau de la main gauche et appuyé de la main droite sur son bâton sur lequel est enroulé un serpent, le genou droit ployé ; dans le champ à droite, un globe.
Reverse translation : “Salus Augusti”, (La Santé de l'Auguste).

Postume seizes the purple by eliminating Salonin, son of Gallien, of whom he had custody. He reigns over Gaul, Brittany and Spain. Did Postume toy with the idea of conquering the Roman Empire? Gallien, twice, will try to reconquer the "pars occidentalis" of the Empire, without success. Postume will remain in power for nine years, before perishing assassinated for having refused the sack of Mainz, a city which supported Lélien.
