Ce type monétaire est également connu pour l’atelier Aix-en-Provence. Les exemplaires de Tarascon, avec une tarasque en début de légende du revers, sont rares. La tarasque est animal du folklore provençal censé hanté les marécages de Tarascon.

(1434-1480)

René of Anjou (1409-1480), better known as the "Good King René" was also Duke of Bar (1419-1480) and by his marriage to Isabelle de Lorraine, the daughter of Duke Charles, he became in 1431 , Duke of Lorraine.
