Ce denier est frappé sur un flan irrégulier présentant de petits manques en périphérie en raison d’une cristallisation. Les reliefs sont très nets sur les deux faces et les rose est particulièrement bien venue à la frappe

Ce type attribué à Rouen, ou à sa région, est connu avec différentes légendes de revers. L’exemplaire n° 3844 de Belfort (Prou 270) a été trouvé à La Rochelle.

ROUEN - UNSPECIFIED MINT OF THE CIVITAS ROTOMAGENSIUM
(early 8th century)
Rouen struck several types of deniers with a rose on the reverse and presenting a head of profile on the reverse or an A topped with a cross. The specimens with a rose and the face head seem to have been struck in the Rouen region. These three types are found in the treasure of Plassac (Gironde) hidden around 710-730.
