Reverse description : Salonin, lauré, en habit militaire, debout à droite tendant le bras droit et tenant une lance de la main gauche, face à Spes (L’Espérance), drapée, debout à gauche, tenant une fleur de la main droite et soulevant un pan de sa robe de la main gauche ; une couronne pointée, entre eux deux.
Reverse translation : “Spes Publica”, (L’Espérance publique).

Salonin was raised to the cesarat after the death of his brother, Valérien II. Sent to Gaul, under the protection of Postumus then simple general, he was proclaimed august after the capture of Valerian I in June or July 260. Postumus, proclaimed august in his turn, besieged Salonin and had him put to death.
