Coments on the condition:
Exemplaire sur un flan irrégulier bien centré des deux côtés avec les grènetis visibles. Belle tête divinisée de Sévère. Frappe un peu molle au revers. Jolie patine de collection ancienne avec des reflets dorés

Obverse description : Tête nue de Septime Sévère à droite (O°).
Obverse translation : “Divo Severo Pio”, (Au divin Sévère pieux).

Reverse legend : CONSECRATIO.
Reverse description : Aigle debout à droite sur un autel enguirlandé (cippe), les ailes repliées, tournant la tête à gauche.
Reverse translation : “Consecratio”, (Consécration).

Commentary


Ce type de denier est de loin le plus rare des types de consécration restitués par Caracalla et Géta. P. V. Hill le classe (R4) d’après la liste de trésors (26) dressés par l’auteur correspondant seulement à un exemplaire recensé.
