Coments on the condition:
Exemplaire sur un flan ovale et irrégulier bien centré des deux côtés. Usure importante, mais parfaitement lisible et identifiable. Frappe un peu molle au droit. Très jolie patine vert noir épaisse

Commentary
Poids lourd. Traces de coulée du flan bien visibles. Semble de mêmes coins que l’exemplaire de l’American Numismatic Society (ANS. 1169). La ligne d’exergue fait penser à une massue. Kainon nomisma se traduit aussi par nouvelle monnaie comme le fait remarquer Pierre Strauss.

The creation of Kainon (Caena) is certainly linked to the arrival of the Corinthian Timoleon in Sicily in 345 BC. He was considered a liberator by the Sicilians. The presence of Timoléon profoundly modified the coinage. A significant number of cities minted a civic coinage like perhaps Kainon that B. Head considered federal or symmachic.
