Historical background

SICILY - SOLUS

(5th - 4th century BC)

Solus was a city of Carthaginian origin located about sixteen kilometers east of Palermo (Panorme). It then passed in the 4th century under Syracusan influence, definitively from Agathokles before falling under the control of the Romans during the first Punic war. It was then a tributary city.
