Exemplaire sur un flan ovale et irrégulier, centré des deux côtés, mais court au droit sur la légende. Beau portrait d’Héraklès glabre. Très joli revers de style fin, bien venu à la frappe. Belle patine marron naturelle

Commentary
Poids léger. Normalement sur ce type avec la tête d’Héraklès, nous trouvons parfois un trépied, une corne d’abondance, un trophée, un arc ou une étoile, absent sur notre exemplaire à cause du centrage.

Agathokles, King of Syracuse
Agathokles had seized power in Syracuse in 317 BC and had taken the title of king in 305 BC. In 310, the tyrant invaded North Africa and attacked Carthage, but he was defeated in 307 and had to retire to Sicily. Peace, signed the following year with the hereditary enemy, consecrates the hegemony of Agathokles over all Sicily.
