Commentary


Pour le demi-escudo en or qui correspond à 8 reales d'argent, soit un ratio or/argent 1:15,8, très proche de la France, il y a cinq types différents pour l'atelier de Madrid : le premier frappé en 1746 qui est la pièce de proclamation ; le second type a été fabriqué de 1746 à 1748 ; le troisième type de 1748 à 1751 ; le quatrième type de 1751 à 1756 et le dernier de 1756 à 1759.

Ferdinand VI (1713-1759) is the youngest son of Philip V and Marie Louise of Sardinia. He married Marie de Portugal. He died childless and his half-brother, Charles III, succeeded him.
