Ce sizain est frappé sur un flan très large mais est décentré aussi bien au droit qu’au revers, si bien qu’une partie des légendes est hors flan. Une patine foncée recouvre cet exemplaire

(1640-1643)
On December 16, 1640, the Catalans revolted against their suzerain, Philip IV of Spain (1621-1665), and called on the French to help them. Louis XIII takes the title of Count of Barcelona, the French invade Roussillon in September 1642 and take Perpignan on September 9.
