Obverse description : Buste diadémé, drapé et cuirassé de Valentinien II à droite vu de trois quarts en avant (A’c) ; diadème perlé et gemmé.
Obverse translation : “Dominus Noster Valentinianus Pius Felix Augustus”, (Notre seigneur Valentinien pieux heureux auguste).

Reverse


Reverse legend : CONCORDI-A AVGGGZ/ S// CONOB.
Reverse description : Constantinople assise de face, tournée à droite sur un trône orné de têtes de lions, tenant de la main droite un sceptre long et de la gauche un globe, le pied posé sur une proue.
Reverse translation : “Concordia Augustorum”, (La Concorde des augustes).

Valentinian II, son of Valentinian I, was proclaimed august at the age of four. After being driven out of Italy by Magnus Maximus in 387, he was restored to the throne by Theodosius I before being assassinated in 392 by Arbogast, who preferred Eugene to him..
