VERDUN - HENRY IER L'OISELEUR
(10th-12th centuries)
Duke of Saxony since 912, it was in 918 that Conrad I appointed him as his successor. In 919, Lorraine was integrated into the Empire. Henry was stricken with paralysis in 935 and died the following year. His son, Othon, will unite Germany and Italy and will be at the origin of the Holy Roman Empire..
