Très bel exemplaire sur un flan large, centré, éclaté à 5h. Revers finement détaillé. La monnaie a conservé une partie de son coupant d’origine. Patine grise de collection ancienne

Reverse description : Zeus Olympios nicéphore assis à gauche sur un siège à dossier, nu jusqu'à la ceinture, les jambes parallèles, tenant de la main droite une Niké qui couronne la légende et de la main gauche un sceptre long ; dans le champ à gauche, un monogramme.

(175-164 BC)

Antiochus IV was the youngest son of Antiochus III. He had been sent to Rome as a hostage after the Peace of Apamea. He fought the Egyptians, ravaged the Temple of Jerusalem and won several victories over Ptolemy VI Philometor (180-145 BC).
