Commentary

Historical background

UMBRIA

(3rd century BC)

Geographically, Umbria corresponds to the region of central Italy, crossed by the Tiber, formed by the provinces of Perugia and Terni, corresponding to the ancient cities of Ameria (Amelia), Arminium, Iguvium (Gubbio) and Tuder (Todi). These cities are famous for their cast coins, made between the first and the second Punic wars.
