La légende du revers reprend une des phrases dites par le Général Major George H. Thomas le 19 octobre 1863 pendant les batailles de Chattanooga.

(since 1776)

Under McKinley's presidency (1897-1901), the United States confronted Spain and took Cuba, Guam, Puerto Rico and the Philippines from it. Theodore Roosevelt succeeded the assassinated president (1901/1909) and undertook an interventionist policy in America and posed as a mediator in regional conflicts. To Taft succeeded in 1913 Wilson who was to bring the United States into the war in 1917.
